'Premam' is an official remake of 2015 Classic 'Premam' from Malayalam. The movie features Nagachaitanya, Shrutihaasan, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameswaran in titular roles. Chaitanya Krishna, Praveen, Josh Ravi, Brahmaji, Narra Srinu, Jeeva, Vinay Vijayan, Avantika Vandanapu are part of the supporting cast. So let's see how the movie has fared and is different from the original. The movie begins on lighter note where Naga Chaitanya was shown as a Class X student who falls in love with Anupama. However she falls for another guy and the puppy love ends heart broken. Story moves to 2005, where Vikram enters Engineering college. He meets college lecturer Sitara and falls for her once again. She too reciprocates the love. Story moves with more college scenes and fun filled elements. But twist to the tale happens when Shruti faces an accident and forgets old memories. Now time forwards to 2016 and Nag meets Madonna Sebastian. But she is already engaged to a drug addict. But this time, Chaitu never gave up his love and what happens next is a lighter vein climax for movie lovers.
No one else could have done this role except Naga Chaitanya. He fits the shoes of Nivin Pauly so perfect. He looked so dashing with little beard during third phase of his life time. Dialogue delivery and mannerisms are so good as college student. After string of flops, Chaitu has proved his mettle. Anupama and Madonna has nothing much to offer. Both of them are so beautiful. Madonna's portions are completely new for audience. Shruti haasan scores as Sitara teacher. She has done a fabulous job once again. Kindly don't compare this with the original. Shruti has nailed it to perfection. Cameos by Venky and Nagarjuna are surprise package. Especially Nagarjuna as Chaitu's dad in the climax is a sweet surprise for most of them. Rest of the supporting cast did justice to their roles.
The movie is funded by S.Naga Vamshi and PDV Prasad under Sitara Entertainments banner. Nothing wrong with the production values as each frame is too rich. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing is the biggest plus. He has kept the running time to check. The first half of the movie runs for 65 minutes.Songs are not a hindrance to the flow of movie. Karthik Ghattamaneni's cinematography is even more flawless and perfect. Each frame is vibrant and colourful. Gopi Sunder and Rajesh Murugesan has composed music and 3 songs were replicated from the original. 'Evare' is the most beautifully picturized song.
For those who watched original, this movie would definitely do justice. For those who haven't, this movie is a sure shot wholesome treat ! Nagachaitanya has delivered lots of1 goods and he has completed his role as an actor. Nagarjuna Akkineni's voice over starts the movie and ends it on a high note. The movie has not many flaws. Technical wise the movie is too strong too. Rich production values also help the movie to get a free flow of run. The movie will be a blockbuster for sure.
