Karun Nair... a promising young cricketer who delivered a triple ton in the test debut series at Chennai has all the praises across the country. It was not a cake walk for him to create a history under pressure, but the confidence he showed on the field throughout the game is being applauded by cricket legendaries across the globe.
The year 2016 will always be remembered by this young gun for not only having scored a triple century but also coming out safe after a boat accident tragedy in Kerala early this year.
Karun Nair survived a boat accident when he was in the boat and the boat sank in the Pampa river in Kerala last July. Nair battled the deep waters of river Pampa after the big snake boat he was in sunk during the famous ‘Aranmula Vallasadya’ (boat feast).
Nair was going to temples in that season to offer thanks giving as he was picked for the one day squad against Zimbabwe. The accident took place when the boat was about to reach the temple (Aranmulala). Karun Nair had to swim some distance and managed to stay afloat till he was rescued by boats. Six people died and several went missing.
Karun Nair at times says that god has given him a rebirth. Today Karan is the nation's Hero with one classy innings under pressure.
