Tamilnadu Chief secretary under IT scanner

Tamilnadu state top bureaucrat ,Chief Secretary Rammohan rao
house was raided by the IT officials in the early hours today. Rammohan rao who
hails originally from Andhra Pradesh belongs to the 1985 IAS batch. He has been
a trusted aide to the late Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa.
Search operations are underway in his local residence at
Anna nagar and at few places in Bangalore in Karnataka state. Mr. Rammohan Rao
was accused of converting the money into gold after the central government abolished
the big notes. These raids were seen in connection with another biggie and
AIADMK leader Shekhar Reddy where the IT raids were conducted a week ago and
Rs. 150 Crore were recovered. Enforcement directorate is now ready to question
It is said that Mr. Rao has also connections with mining
baron Gali Janardhan reddy. Raids on this top IAS officer took a political
turn. DMK leader Stalin said that the raids on the Chief Secretary was a
disgrace to the state. The opposition leaders targeted Paneer Selvam’s
Mr. Rao was appointed as the Chief secretary to the
Tamilnadu government when Amma took over the government for the second time. He
also served as a Principle secretary to the late CM Jayalalithaa.
