North Lake College was placed on lockdown just before noon Wednesday after shots were fired on the Irving campus.
The college sent out its first alert at 11:43 a.m., and Irving police later confirmed that shots had been fired at the school in the 5001 N. MacArthur Blvd.
Irving police spokesman James McLellan called the situation a "credible threat" but said authorities could not confirm whether there were any deaths or injuries.
McLellan said the suspected gunman, seen in surveillance footage, was a white man with a brown buzz cut. He was wearing an orange tank top with a gray stripe and may have had a black jacket.
