Three month ban on Sale of Diesel cars with more than 2000CC continues

Now Supreme Court has extended the ban on entry of outbound trucks into Delhi, and told Haryana and UP governments to continue diverting these carriers to roads bypassing Delhi. Earlier Supreme Court has imposed the ban on big diesel cars and the ban was imposed on December 16th and it was forced to remain till March 31st.
The ban came with respect to controlling Pollution. The case came for hearing before Justices TS Thakur and Sikri. Attorneys kept requests of car makers, including Mercedes Benz, Tata Motors and Mahindra and they asked to relax the ban on sale of cars with more than 2000 CC engine.
The lawyers who spoke in favour of the car makers said that the ban must be revoked and should not be continued further. However opposite party lawyers said due to the ban, the quality of air has been increased and there is also less pollution.
